Universal Works is a contemporary clothing brand that produces real, honest clothing based on fit and good design. Founded by David Keyte in 2009, the company takes inspiration from his formative years growing up in a provincial Midlands' town in the seventies, working as a sign-writers apprentice in the eighties, and a thirty-year span in the fashion industry. Universal Works is about the mixing of ideas, understanding heritage and context, underpinned by contemporary needs and aesthetics. The brand champions skilled, small-scale production and collaborates with amazing people from artists to writers. With a substantial following, Universal Works is now stocked worldwide and has three stores in the UK and one in Berlin.
