Sessùn – Exquisite Craftsmanship in Dresses, Clothing & Bags

Emma François, aged 21, the adventure began in Latin America during a trip to Guatemala. Meeting with men and women who weave, embroider, sew, create clothes and craft objects signed the designer’s first step on a path that seemed to be waiting for her. The idea of designing a collection that would marry local know-how and street culture soon began to take shape. And in 1996, Sessùn came into being.

Every piece of the collection at kapok Hong Kong, from Sessùn clothing and dresses to bags, tells a story. Each item is carefully crafted using quality fabrics, inspired by encounters with people, light, water, clay, and roots. Rooted in tradition and authenticity, the brand celebrates human connections, sustainability, and meticulous attention to detail.

Sessùn’s clothing collections are designed in two stages: a small pre-collection of mid-season pieces and the main collection, which complements and completes the wardrobe. From Sessùn Blue denim to Diviluz bags, each collection embodies craftsmanship and innovative design.

Materials are thoughtfully chosen, often natural like cotton, wool, and linen, or responsibly sourced synthetics such as Tencel and EcoVero viscose. Recycled polyester is also used where possible, highlighting a commitment to sustainability without compromising style.

The brand also runs a dedicated in-house workshop, where a team of skilled dressmakers ensures every piece, from Sessùn dresses to casual wear, is meticulously crafted with precision, allowing flexibility for design experimentation and flawless execution.

Sessùn Bag & Accessories: Minimalism with Perfect Proportions

Sessùn’s bag collection reflects the same philosophy of timeless design. The Diviluz bag, with its minimalist and structured silhouette, seamlessly transitions from day to night, offering elegance and functionality in equal measure. Crafted with care, using vegetable-tanned leather whenever possible, Sessùn accessories are designed to be cherished for years, combining sustainable materials with artisanal techniques.

Materials & Sustainability: Conscious Fashion

Sessùn’s dedication to quality and sustainability extends to every choice of material. For over 25 years, the brand has prioritized responsibly sourced fabrics and lower-impact synthetics. Highlights include:

  • 97% of viscose is sustainably certified
  • 90% of all materials are non-synthetic
  • 96% of polyester is recycled

Leather goods use vegetable-tanned processes whenever possible, and 99% of tanneries are certified through the Leather Working Group. Sessùn ensures that every piece of clothing and accessory is both safe to wear and environmentally considerate.
