The sea goddess of Turkish tradition, Ak Ana, lends her name to this necklace set with freshwater pearl. She is a creation goddess, who flew over the endless seas in a world before time, taking the form of a white goose. It was also Ak Ana who suggested to Tengri, the God of the Skies, to create land itself, and thereby played her hand in the forming of the Earth and its peoples. In ancient Vedic texts, the pearl is born of the Earth’s waters and the heavens powers and fertilized by a flash of lightning, bringing about the connection between Ak Ana and that precious gem. She inspires in us positive action, and helps the wearer to tap into the creative force within.
